Clinical and Administrative Staff Training

With the understanding that a high-quality workforce is vital to the advancement of world-class clinical care, UPMC offers its partners support with staffing, clinical and administrative training and ongoing education.

Globally, UPMC trains more than 1,200 physician residents and fellows a year and offers continuing education to help current medical staff—including doctors, nurses, clinical support and administrative staff—to further develop cutting-edge skills. A primary commitment to education has led to national and international recognition of UPMC, its partners and their employees.

UPMC develops customized training programs for its partners based on their needs. These programs can include on-site staffing and new hire training, augmentation of existing skills, train-the-trainer programs to ensure continued training expertise by our partners’ own personnel and live and pre-recorded tele-educational seminars across many health disciplines. Partners are given immediate access to dozens of proven-effective Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs available through UPMC.
