Medical Student Rotation
UPMC and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine are involved in the education of international physician trainees. Activities based in the School’s Oakland campus include clinical skills practice with standardized patients, simulation exercises, and mentored observation of faculty, resident, and medical student experiences.
As with University of Pittsburgh medical students, international trainees of institutions engaged in close collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine may have the opportunity to complete a formal clinical elective rotation at various sites, including those sites in the UPMC International Training Center of Excellence.
It is hoped that, through these experiences, the students will both enhance their clinical skills and develop an understanding of our educational methods and clinical practices to take back to their home countries.
